The report from this week’s Holsworthy market indicates a strong trade for all good meat lambs.
A smaller entry of ewes, mostly lean and lightweight, saw a continued strong trade, with Suffolk x ewes topping at £152 from OVG Dennis & Son of South Tawton, and Texel ewes to £151 from R May of Henford, Ashwater.
Mules sold to £148, and grazing ewes ranged between £90 and £115.
A mixed entry of quality, with framed lambs being very much sought after.
