The powerful storm brought floods and destruction before heading toward Taiwan. Super Typhoon Fung-wong tore through the Philippines on November 9, unleashing torrential rains, powerful winds, and widespread flooding before moving toward Taiwan on November 10.

Entire provinces were plunged into darkness after the storm knocked out power grids, while hundreds of domestic and international flights were canceled.

The Philippine Coast Guard released footage showing families boarding trucks during large-scale evacuations in Camarines Sur, one of the hardest-hit areas.

The typhoon’s arrival came just days after Kalmaegi—another powerful storm—killed over 200 people across the country and neighboring Vietnam.
