Typhoon Uwan is strengthening quickly as it nears the Philippine Sea, east of the Bicol Region, based on Pagasa's 5 p.m. advisory on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The typhoon's center is estimated to be 575 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar, or 620 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It is moving west-northwest at 30 km/h.
Uwan carries maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to 185 km/h.

Uwan is forecasted to make landfall either over the southern part of Isabela or the northern part of Aurora on the evening of Sunday, November 9, or early Monday, November 10. Pagasa noted that Uwan could strengthen into a super typhoon by Saturday night or Sunday due to highly favorable atmospheric conditions.
