All Her Fault delves into how quickly whispers turn into accusations and how the façade of suburban perfection can reveal something far darker beneath the surface.
The new eight-part thriller from the producers of Downton Abbey begins on an ordinary suburban afternoon that spirals into a mother's worst nightmare. The series stars Sarah Snook (known from Succession) and Dakota Fanning, premiering Thursday, November 6, with the first four episodes releasing immediately and subsequent episodes following weekly.
Adapted from Andrea Mara's 2021 bestselling novel, All Her Fault follows Marissa Irvine (played by Snook), whose carefully controlled life unravels when she visits 14 Arthur Avenue to pick up her young son Milo from his first playdate. However, the woman who opens the door is unfamiliar to her. What starts as confusion quickly turns into panic.
As news of Milo's disappearance sweeps through their quiet suburb, Marissa is forced not only to search for her son but also to fend off growing suspicion from the community. Along the way, she encounters other mothers, including the mysterious Jenny (played by Fanning), and soon learns that everyone harbors secrets and anyone could be responsible.
The series has been compared to Big Little Lies for its portrayal of suburban mothers' relationships, underlying class tensions, and how communities often turn against women under pressure.
"All Her Fault explores how quickly whispers can become accusations, and how the veneer of suburban perfection can shatter to reveal something much darker beneath."
Author's summary: This suspenseful drama reveals the fragile edges of suburban life where secrets and suspicions collide, exposing dark truths behind closed doors.
