Brantford joins communities across Canada in honoring those who have served and continue to serve the country during war and peace.
Citizens are encouraged to attend the events and pay their respects. Sharon Sayles, communications advisor for the City of Brantford, stated:
“We encourage members of our community to join us on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, as we remember, with deep respect and immense gratitude, the remarkable sacrifices of others.”
On Tuesday, a walking march including veterans, active service members, first responders, dignitaries, and cadets will proceed from Harmony Square along Dalhousie Street to the Brant War Memorial.
The Civic Service of Remembrance begins at 10:50 a.m., featuring a fly-past from a B-25 Mitchell bomber and an FF46 Firefly from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, weather permitting.
A John’s College student, winner of a local speech-writing contest, will present her speech titled The Role of Canadian Soldiers in War One.
The ceremony will honor one First World War veteran and 22 Second World War veterans, previously identified as missing from the Brant War Memorial earlier this year.
Summary: Brantford’s Remembrance Day events unite the community in a heartfelt tribute to veterans through vigil, march, speeches, and commemorations.
