The Las Vegas Raiders' first season with quarterback Geno Smith has been uneven, yet the veteran signal-caller has continued striving to stabilize the team’s performance. In Week 9, Smith led a strong effort in an overtime loss to the Jaguars, connecting with tight end Brock Bowers for three touchdowns.
As Smith’s play improved, the Raiders started looking more competitive. However, during the Week 10 matchup against the Denver Broncos, he sustained an apparent leg injury that forced him out temporarily.
In the fourth quarter of the Thursday night clash, Smith stayed down in visible discomfort after being tackled. He was checked in the blue medical tent before returning to play, although he continued to limp and appeared in pain.

Smith was close to reaching 100 passing yards in a tight defensive battle, with Denver ahead 10–7 late in the game. On a first-down play to open a final-quarter drive, he scrambled and was tackled by Broncos’ defender Nik Bonitto, who made contact near Smith’s right knee. Another Denver player delivered a secondary hit that left Smith down briefly before he walked to the sideline under his own power. Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett replaced him for the ensuing snaps.
The Raiders went on to lose the game 10–7.
