Veterans Week at the University of Tennessee at Martin is scheduled for November 10-14. The week features several events organized to honor military veterans.
The activities are hosted by UT Martin’s Army ROTC program, Veteran Services, and the nonprofit organization Rolling Thunder, which raises awareness about POW/MIA issues.
The official Veterans Day ceremony will be held on November 8. Rolling Thunder will organize a Veterans Day Parade starting at 10 a.m. The parade will begin at the corner of Lovelace and University Street and proceed through downtown Martin.
On Saturday, November 15, the UT Martin Skyhawks will host Charleston Southern in a Military Appreciation football game kicking off at 1 p.m. Active-duty military personnel and veterans will be admitted free.
During the game, the university will unveil a POW/MIA Chair, a symbolic empty chair honoring service members who are prisoners of war, missing, or killed in action.
