Apple to Introduce Digital Passport IDs in Wallet
Apple will soon introduce a feature to Apple Wallet, allowing U.S. users to create a digital ID using their passport for domestic travel at select TSA checkpoints.
The feature, announced as part of the iOS 26 release, expands Wallet's capabilities beyond payments and tickets to securely store digital identities.
- Currently, 12 states and Puerto Rico support government IDs in Apple Wallet.
- The passport-tied Digital ID feature was delayed but will arrive in a future software update.
