Sarnia Man Jailed for Stealing $13K Necklace

Nicholas Brown, 31, was sentenced to nine months in jail for stealing a $13,000 necklace from Lambton Mall.

“Certainly you’re quite correct in that,” Justice Krista Lynn Leszczynski said. “It was very brazen.”

Brown's lawyer, Robert McFadden, noted that the theft was short-lived, as a customer followed Brown home and contacted police, who quickly recovered the necklace.

Assistant Crown attorney Michael Donald stated,

“It’s not an allegation of robbery, but it’s nonetheless a very significant theft of an expensive item valued at almost $13,000,”
emphasizing the severity of the crime.
