Jeep Grand Cherokee & Wrangler “Park Outside” recall for fire risk – Newstalk KZRG

Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Recall

Chrysler has issued a recall for 320,065 Jeep vehicles due to a fire risk.

Owners of affected vehicles, including 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler and 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, should park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles until remedied.

Owners should not charge unrepaired vehicle batteries because the risk of fire is higher in a charged battery than when the battery is depleted.

The recall is due to a potential defect in the battery pack, which may lead to a vehicle fire. Chrysler is aware of one injury and 19 fires related to this issue.
