Energy Northwest has announced the official name for its upcoming project, the Cascade Advanced Energy Facility, in collaboration with Amazon and X-energy.
The project involves constructing 12 modular nuclear reactors north of the Tri-Cities, with the first phase focusing on building four reactors.
The facility is expected to generate a gigawatt of power, enough to supply approximately 700,000 homes.
"We were established by Washington State to create electric generation for the region in a sustainable way,"
said Jackie Eutsey, a representative from Energy Northwest.
