CBP Officers Intercept Meth at Andrade Port of Entry

Despite being one of the smallest U.S. land border crossings, the Andrade Port of Entry plays a significant role in national security.

Recently, within a four-day period, CBP officers seized 408 packages of methamphetamine weighing 386 pounds, worth over $482,500.

On one occasion, a traveler from Mexico was inspected by a primary CBP officer, a canine enforcement officer, and a human/narcotics detector dog. The inspection revealed 219 packages hidden in various parts of the vehicle, including door panels, seats, and the gas tank.

The packages tested positive for methamphetamine, weighing over 239 pounds.
