Newsom Considers 2028 Presidential Bid
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been hinting at a presidential run for months, and recently made his intentions more official.
“Yeah, I’d be lying otherwise,”
Newsom told CBS Sunday Morning's Robert Costa, stating he is giving “serious thought” to a White House bid. He added,
“I’d just be lying, and I’m not — I can’t do that,”leaving the decision to
“Fate”to determine if 2028 will be his shot.
Newsom has been testing the waters in Red States and taking swings at Donald Trump, but will not make a final decision until the 2026 midterms are over.
