The federal judiciary has distributed interim guidance on artificial intelligence, allowing for the use of the technology while addressing procurement and security concerns.
A letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee leadership, made public on Thursday, revealed that an AI task force developed the guidance, which was distributed to federal courts on July 31.
According to Judge Robert J. Conrad, Director of the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the guidance enables courts to explore AI technology while working on more permanent guidance.
The guidance is a temporary measure, and courts are also considering an AI information-sharing website.
US courts receive interim AI guidance for experimentation with security guardrails.
