Improving Further Education
We will put an end to qualification confusion and build confidence in Further Education (FE).
Young people have long been faced with a complex array of FE qualifications, creating uncertainty about the best path to take.
As an education minister, when I’m asked about my work in everyday life it’s usually about the best-known, established routes: A Levels and university.
The introduction of new V Levels will bridge the gap between A Levels and T Levels, simplifying the system.
Currently, there are hundreds of level 3 qualifications, causing confusion and making it difficult for individuals to determine the best qualification for their needs.
The plan is to simplify the landscape with three clear routes for 16-18-year-olds, helping to achieve the prime minister's target of having two thirds of young people participate in higher level learning.
