Luzerne County Election Board’s Post-Election Adjudication to Start Sooner
The Luzerne County Election Board’s post-election adjudication will commence earlier than in previous years.
According to Jennifer Learn-Andes, adjudication determines the acceptance or rejection of flagged mail and provisional ballots and tallies write-in votes.
Traditionally, adjudication begins on the Friday after elections, but County Election Director Emily Cook has announced that her team will have all necessary information prepared to start on Thursday, allowing for an earlier commencement.
Cook attributed the change to revised procedures that prioritize adjudication preparation.
The adjudication process, which is open to the public, will begin at 9 a.m. on November 6, in Courtroom A on the third floor of the Penn Place Building, located at 20 N.
Additional sessions will be scheduled as necessary to complete the process.
