I am a week late to this topic, as I previously wanted to share my experiences from 20 years ago in Iraq with the 48th Brigade Combat Team from Georgia and a close encounter with an IED.
Last week marked National Newspaper Week, a celebration close to my heart for different reasons. I consider myself fortunate to have the best job in the world, where I can share my thoughts with readers each week, thanks to the editors, and then await your feedback.
Over nearly three decades, I have formed lasting bonds with regular readers, despite never having met them in person. You have stood by me through both good times and bad, offering constructive criticism when necessary and reassuring me that my column is being read through your responses to any errors or inaccuracies.
I have the best job in the world.
