Why I Still Love Newspapers
I am a week late to this topic because I was sharing my experiences of being in Iraq 20 years ago with the brave men and women of Georgia's 48th Brigade Combat Team.
Last week was National Newspaper Week, which holds personal significance for me. I have the best job in the world, getting to share my thoughts with readers each week.
I've been doing this for almost three decades, making good friends with regular readers, even if we've never met in person. You've been with me through good times and bad, offering criticism when needed and correcting me when I'm wrong.
I get to share my thoughts with you, courtesy of the editors, and then wait to see how you feel about those thoughts.
This interaction with readers is what makes my job so rewarding.
