The Saskatoon Hilltops have overcome adversity throughout the season, and their regular-season finale was no exception. Despite facing rain, wind, and snow, as well as a lengthy delay, they secured a 31-6 victory over the Calgary Colts.
“It is what it is,”
said Hilltops head coach Tom Sargeant. The team is now moving on to the Prairie Football Conference playoffs, with their first semifinal game against the Winnipeg Rifles this Sunday.
The question remains whether the Hilltops are ready for a long playoff run. According to Sargeant,
“We’re going to find out.”
The regular-season finale was marked by challenging conditions, with a slippery ball and turf affecting the game. As Sargeant noted,
“We matched the conditions at times.”
