The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is set to introduce changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
“Lots of changes coming to federal benefit programs, including SNAP,” said Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada CEO Marie Baxter. “Largely having to do with who was exempt from needing to meet work requirements.”
According to recent data, approximately 505,500 Nevadans, or about 15% of the state's population, use SNAP benefits. While seniors are still eligible, many able-bodied adults will need to meet work requirements to continue receiving benefits.
Catholic Charities expresses concerns over these changes. Author summary: SNAP benefits requirements are changing.
