Anthony Edwards led seven Timberwolves players scoring in double figures with 26 points as Minnesota defeated Sacramento in California for the sixth consecutive time.
The Timberwolves have shown a strong advantage playing in Sacramento recently, often performing better on the road than at home against the Kings. On Sunday night, Edwards contributed 26 points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals during the decisive 144-117 victory.
Minnesota (6-4) secured their fourth win in five games with a commanding performance. While not as overwhelming as their 40-point win over Utah on Friday, the Wolves controlled the game, trailing only briefly early. They shot an efficient 53.6% from the field, made 18 three-pointers on 46 attempts, and capitalized on 18 turnovers by the Kings for 37 points.
"Another complete game both ends of the floor," Wolves coach Chris Finch said. "I thought we were really sharp, which is what we needed to be. Built on the performances of the other day, and it continued into today. Really, really pleased with how we’re starting games defensively."
Edwards was playing his third game back after a hamstring injury that sidelined him for four contests. He went 7-for-16 from the field, 5-for-11 from three-point range, and 7-for-8 at the free-throw line. After scoring 37 points on Friday against the Jazz, he has made 12 of 23 three-pointers over his last two games.
Summary: The Timberwolves demonstrated strong offensive and defensive cohesion to handily defeat the Kings, with Anthony Edwards leading a balanced team effort and maintaining momentum after returning from injury.
