On November 9, 33-year-old South Korean singer Hyuna fainted mid-performance while singing her 2011 hit "Bubble Pop!" at the Waterbomb Macau music festival. Videos circulating on social media captured the moment she suddenly collapsed on stage.
Immediately, two backup dancers came to assist her, and a security staff member carried her off the stage, according to News.Az citing foreign media reports.
The incident sparked fresh concerns about Hyuna’s health, with many fans awaiting updates on her condition.
Later on November 9, Hyuna posted on Instagram to apologize and reassure her followers:
“I’m truly sorry. It was only a short time since my last performance, but I wanted to show you my best side.”
She explained that she had no memory of fainting and expressed regret, especially to fans in Macau who paid to see her perform.
“I’ll try to build up my stamina and work hard consistently. It will be so great if everything goes my way, but I’ll try my best.”
Hyuna, whose full name is Kim Hyun-ah, had already worried fans with an Instagram post on October 3 about her eating habits and weight:
“Hyun-ah, you ate way too much. Let’s snap out of it and go on a strict diet. You liked being skinny, right?”
Hyuna’s fainting at the Macau festival has reignited fan concern, but she has apologized and assured everyone she will focus on improving her health and stamina.
