If you grew up in the mid to late 2000s, you likely had a crush on a young Josh Hutcherson. He captured hearts in early family films such as Zathura, Bridge to Terabithia, and Journey to the Center of the Earth, before gaining wider fame from The Hunger Games series.
Now 33, Hutcherson appears in the 2025 HBO comedy I Love LA, where he plays the boyfriend of Maia, portrayed by creator and star Rachel Sennott, who also led the cast of Bottoms in 2023.
When asked by Bustle if he's “ready to reclaim” his status as an internet boyfriend, Hutcherson laughed and admitted he wasn't aware he ever held such a title.
“I had no idea I ever had such a title,” Hutcherson said with a giggle.
An internet boyfriend is typically a celebrity admired by many online, often becoming the subject of fans' fantasies. Recent examples include Pedro Pascal, Jeremy Allen White from The Bear, Jonathan Bailey, named “sexiest man alive,” and various costars of Daisy Edgar Jones.
During the interview, Hutcherson was seated beside his I Love LA co-star Leighton Meester, sharing a lighthearted moment when the topic came up.
HBO Max plans start at $10.
