Wanda Maximoff's villainess phase stirred plenty of debate, but Elizabeth Olsen believes there’s still room to make the Scarlet Witch even darker within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The character has had a complex evolution — from an adversary in Avengers: Age of Ultron to a core member of the Avengers by Captain America: Civil War. Her descent into a morally grey path took shape after WandaVision, when she struggled with grief and loss following Vision’s death.
During a recent InStyle appearance for the “What’s in My Bag?” segment, the actress shared her enthusiasm for returning to the role that has defined much of her career.
“I care a lot about playing the Scarlet Witch,” Olsen said. “I always hope to do something surprising, every time I’ve been able to return. It’s meant the world to me to be a part of it.”
Olsen’s reflection hints at her desire to further explore Wanda’s darker aspects, showcasing her complexity as both hero and villain — a duality that has captivated audiences for years.
