The upcoming Avengers team-up movie, Avengers: Doomsday, boasts an impressive and extensive cast. So much so that a livestream unveiling the roster lasted over five hours. While some additions, like the Thunderbolts and the Fantastic Four, were expected, the number of X-Men actors appearing caught many off guard.
Actors such as Ian McKellan, Alan Cumming, and James Marsden are all set to appear in Doomsday, creating excitement among fans. Their presence adds a unique dynamic to the film and broadens the MCU’s ensemble.
According to a leak from YouTuber Kristian Harloff, Avengers: Doomsday might mark the final acting appearance of Sir Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier and possibly his last acting role entirely. This rumor remains unconfirmed but is plausible given Stewart’s recent career choices.
“Avengers: Doomsday won’t just be the last time Sir Patrick Stewart appears as Charles Xavier, but his last acting role ever.” – Kristian Harloff
Patrick Stewart, famed for his roles in Star Trek and X-Men during the 1990s and 2000s, is now 85 years old. In recent years, he has taken fewer on-screen roles, often opting for cameos or voice work, such as his performance as a character in The Emoji Movie. Since 2017, among his six live-action roles, two have been as variations of Professor X.
Avengers: Doomsday is not only a major MCU event featuring many X-Men actors but might also be the final cinematic performance of the legendary Sir Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier.
