DMU Art Graduate Paints Portrait of Baroness Doreen Lawrence

Ruby Waage-Townsend, a Fine Art graduate from De Montfort University Leicester (DMU), felt honored to paint a new portrait of Baroness Doreen Lawrence.

Baroness Lawrence, whose son Stephen was murdered in a racially-motivated attack in 1993, is a former Chancellor of DMU (2016-2020) and founder of the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre on campus.

Ruby was chosen to create a new work depicting Baroness Lawrence, to be hung in DMU's Trinity House.
