Incumbent Town of Hempstead Supervisor John Ferretti has declared victory over Democratic candidate Joseph Scianablo.
Ten supervisor seats were up for election across Long Island, along with numerous council positions and a mayoral post. Ferretti's win was part of a sweep by Nassau Republicans, who retained all three supervisor seats in the county.
"We took all three towns,"
said Nassau Republican Committee Chairman Joseph G. at the Coral House in Baldwin. Other winners included Supervisor Jennifer DeSena in North Hempstead and Supervisor Joseph Saladino in Oyster Bay.
Author's summary: John Ferretti wins supervisor race.
