A medieval tower near the Roman Forum in Rome has partially collapsed during renovation work, severely injuring one worker and trapping another.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday during renovations of the Torre dei Conti structure, with hundreds of tourists witnessing the scene.
Firefighter spokesman Luca Cari confirmed that the one remaining worker remained trapped hours after the initial collapse.
Rescue efforts were hindered when another part of the structure partially collapsed, forcing firefighters to retreat.
