Arkansas men's basketball coach John Calipari brought his team to Hot Springs as part of the Tip-Off Tour, a mission to engage with the rest of the state.
The team played in front of a crowd at Bank OZK Arena, with the exception of player Karim Rtail who was unavailable. Coach Calipari noted the importance of the scrimmage, stating
"It's good because we need to play against [Cincinnati and Memphis in exhibitions],"and added
"They did some good stuff."
Forward Malique Ewin shared his experience, saying
"It was fun, just getting out and exploring Arkansas a little more,"and emphasized the value of
"just playing with each other, that's it."
This event marked the team's first competitive scrimmage in front of a crowd, outside of an uncompetitive scrimmage at Primetime at the Palace on Oct. 3.
