Guardians Called To Extend Key Pitcher This Offseason

“Maybe at the top of the list, right behind Kwan is Cade Smith. That’s a guy they should pursue a multiyear deal with. He’s shown he can pitch in a lot of different situations. This year he stepped in as closer,”
said beat reporter Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com, recently suggesting that the Guardians prioritize locking up right-hander Cade Smith with a multiyear extension this winter.
