Maharashtra & Goa Bar Council Declares Court Closure

The Maharashtra and Goa Bar Council has decided to close all courts and bench offices on November 3 to protest the increasing attacks on lawyers and to demand the passage of the 'Lawyer Protection Act'.

The closure is a result of recent attacks on lawyers in various parts of Maharashtra, which have resulted in loss of life.

The draft 'Lawyer Protection Act' was prepared and handed over to the Advocate General after considering suggestions and amendments from various bar associations.

Resolutions have been passed by many bar associations in protest against the attacks on lawyers.
