Statesboro Breaks Ground on Long-Awaited Fire Station No. 3
With remarks from city leaders and fire officials, Statesboro kicked off the construction of Fire Station No. 3, a significant step forward in meeting the growing community's safety needs.
City officials, fire department staff, and community members gathered on Thursday morning, October 30, 2025, to celebrate the groundbreaking of Statesboro Fire Station No. 3, a project discussed for nearly two decades.
The ceremony featured remarks from city leaders, fire officials, and representatives of the Franklin family, who sold the property to the city. City Manager Charles Penny quoted Ecclesiastes, noting that
“to everything there is a season”and that this moment marks a time to build for Statesboro.
