Statesboro Breaks Ground on Fire Station 3
The city of Statesboro has begun construction on Fire Station 3, which is set to open in 2026. This marks a significant development, as the city's last fire station was opened in 2001.
Since then, the population has grown by 55%, with Georgia Southern University increasing enrollment by 6,000 and numerous new businesses and shopping centers emerging in the city limits.

Statesboro Fire Chief Tim Grams expressed his thoughts on the new station during the groundbreaking ceremony, which took place on the site of the former peanut field across from the Social Security office and behind Lowe’s.
The new fire station is expected to cater to the growing population and increasing commercial activities in the city.
