Kevin Damoa, founder of Glīd Technologies, identified a crucial issue in the logistics industry: the complex process of moving containers from ships to freight trains.
Damoa's experience with this problem began at 17, when he was a U.S. Army enlistee responsible for loading tanks and vehicles onto railroads.
It was the beginning of his love story with logistics.
After a 13-year stint with the U.S. Air Force National Guard and roles at SpaceX, Northrup Grumman, and other companies, Damoa revisited the road-to-rail problem in 2022 while working at Harley-Davidson's e-bike brand spinoff, Serial 1.
Glīd is now building an autonomous shortcut to move freight from road to rail, and will be showcased at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025.
Author's summary: Glīd Technologies solves logistics problems.
