Nantwich residents are facing a £10 rise in Cheshire East Council's waste recycling scheme in 2026.
The annual subscription for the scheme will increase from £59 in 2025 to £69 next year. This change could earn the authority an extra £1 million, as more than 100,000 residents signed up last year.
A 25% reduction in the fee is available for those receiving qualifying benefits.
Last year, more than 100,000 residents subscribed to our garden waste recycling scheme – an increase on the first year of the service.
I’d like to thank everyone who has already signed up and continues to support this initiative.
The rise in this year’s subscription fee reflects the significant financial pressures facing the council.
Cllr David Jefferay, Chair of Cheshire East Council Environment and Communities Committee
