The Midwest Connect passenger rail line, which would connect Chicago, Columbus, and Pittsburgh, is gaining momentum. The Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, along with Fort Wayne, Indiana, and several Ohio cities, have contributed $650,000 to submit a proposal to the Federal Railroad Administration.
This investment brings the project out of the conceptual phase and closer to a feasibility study, should the federal government decide to proceed. According to William Murdock, Executive Director of MORPC, the federal government would cover 90% of the study's costs if they move forward.
Whether it's Columbus, or you're looking at communities like Lima or Marysville.
