Council Criticized for Lack of School Traffic Warden
Independent Councillor Charlie Farrelly proposed a motion for a school traffic warden on College Road, Castleisland, during school times.
The area, with three schools, becomes a bottleneck and dangerous for crossing, according to Cllr Farrelly.
The council's road safety officer has already visited the area and observed the dangers incurred during school times.
The council responded that there is no current budget provision for a school warden, but will assess the location and consider it for the next budget.
Cllr Farrelly deemed this response unacceptable, given the road safety officer's firsthand observation of the issues.
