Laois student turns 90s rave culture into powerful portrayal of grief

Laois Student's Film Gains International Attention

A 21-year-old acting student from Laois has produced a successful short film, receiving recognition across the UK and Ireland.

Indah O'Reilly, a Stradbally-based assistant director and producer, said

"I'm studying acting, and last year our short film's director reached out to me to see if I had any interest in working behind the scenes on the film"
.

'Into the Silence' has been shortlisted for several awards at film festivals in Ireland and abroad, and is

like "a dream"
according to O'Reilly.

The film takes viewers back to Dublin's rave culture in the 1990s, following two young DJs who find their lives forever changed.
