Ethio telecom has introduced its Znexus service, aiming to provide affordable access to digital devices for millions of Ethiopians.
The service is part of Ethiopia's Horizon Strategy, which aims to create a digitally empowered society by 2027/2028.
Out of approximately 85.9 million Ethio telecom customers, only 47 million are currently utilizing the internet.
CEO Frehiwot Tamiru highlighted the digital divide, citing affordability issues and a gap in digital skills as major barriers to internet access.
These barriers limit access to essential services like digital finance, e-services, and smart agriculture.
