Mount Pleasant Residents Request Speed Humps After Near-Miss Incident
A Mount Pleasant neighborhood is urging the Town Council to install speed humps on Mossy Branch Way, a road with a history of speeding issues.
Residents of the Oaks at Marsh View have been requesting speed humps for nearly four years, citing the road's use as a "cut-through" street from Rifle Range Road to Ben Sawyer Boulevard, according to Sandy Quinqe, the homeowner's association president.
Despite three traffic studies, no action has been taken, prompting residents to bring their concerns to the town council after a recent close call.
"We had this horrible thing," said Brittany Webb, an Oaks at Marsh View resident. "Had we just gotten a speed bump that we'd been asking for, this could have slowed him down.
The residents hope that the town council will take their concerns seriously and install speed humps to improve safety on the road.
