The Petrolia Squires will begin their Ontario Elite Hockey League season on Friday, hosting the Tavistock Royals at 8:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Recreation Centre.
They will play a 20-game regular season, having moved from the Ontario Super Hockey League where they finished fifth in the Western Division last season with a 13-10-1 record.
In other news, the LKSSAA cross-country championship will take place on Thursday at Canatara Park, with the following schedule:
