Lawsuit Claims Florida Illegally Withheld Public Records
Friends of the Everglades, Inc. has filed a lawsuit against the Florida Department of Emergency Management, accusing the state agency of denying the existence of public records related to the "Alligator Alcatraz" immigrant detention center.
The lawsuit, filed in Circuit Court in Leon County, claims that the state agency initially denied the existence of the records, but later admitted they existed. Despite this, the records have still not been produced.
The state agency has still not produced the records, according to FOTE attorneys.
