Classic '90s Video Game Franchise Hits Home Run With Upcoming Animated Special
An animated special inspired by the classic Backyard Sports video game franchise will release in 2026, marking the first project beyond gaming for the franchise.
Produced by Lighthouse Studios, the special was announced by Lindsay Barnett, CEO of Playground Productions, along with CPO Chris Waters and Mega Cat CEO James Deighan at the New York Comic-Con.

Waters told IGN, highlighting the opportunity to bring the characters to life in a new way as part of a multi-platform franchise.
