Ethiopia has secured over $2.48 billion from exports during the first quarter of the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year (EFY), according to Trade and Regional Integration Minister Kassahun Gofe.
Addressing a forum to review the first quarter performance, Minister Gofe noted that the country's export earnings have increased by 65% compared to the same period last year.
The minister stated that the first quarter's 117% performance indicates that Ethiopia can achieve its target of $9.4 billion in export earnings for the year.
He also highlighted that the country is making progress in joining the WTO and exporting to neighboring countries under the AfCFTA, making the first quarter productive.
Ethiopia achieved record-breaking export revenue of $8 billion.
