Prioritized Safety Upgrades on Queensland Freight Route
Safety upgrades are set to begin on a crucial Queensland freight corridor, which accommodates up to 15,000 vehicles daily.
Planning is underway for a series of road upgrades along the 60-kilometre stretch of the Warrego Highway between Toowoomba and Dalby, known for its poor crash history.

- Flattening road edges
- New signage and line marking
- Removal of roadside hazards
- Installation of dedicated turn lanes at Speed Road near Oakey
Construction, part of the Targeted Road Safety Program, is scheduled to start in late 2025 and continue into 2026.
