The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled six new infrastructure and traffic improvement projects launching this October to reduce congestion, improve road flow, and boost transport efficiency across Dubai.
These initiatives align with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to build a modern, sustainable transport system supporting the emirate’s long-term growth.
One of the projects includes a new route linking the Al Kifaf Development to the Zabeel Tunnel, which was opened at the start of the month. The project involved widening the tunnel’s internal section from one lane to two, doubling capacity and easing pressure on Sheikh Zayed Road and the 2nd of December Interchange while improving access to nearby districts.
