An inquest into the death of Mark Haines, a 17-year-old Gomeroi teenager, was held in 1988 and 1989.
Mark's body was found on train tracks outside Tamworth in NSW on January 16, 1988, with a stolen white Torana nearby, which appeared to have crashed and rolled.
His family disputed the initial police investigation's findings, which suggested Mark had lain on the tracks deliberately or in a dazed state after the car crash.
Someone hurt him
A coroner ultimately handed down an open finding.
