Longtime Peoria Broadcaster Chuck Collins Set to Retire
After 50 years on-air, Chuck Collins, chief meteorologist at WEEK-TV, is retiring on October 15.
Collins will miss connecting with the community the most, particularly talking to kids about weather. He would often visit schools, speaking to grade school kids about the weather curriculum they study.
“The biggest thing I’m going to miss is talking to kids about weather. Usually grades three through six, they have a weather curriculum they study. I guess I’m a big kid as well.”
