A 24-year-old French man from Loos, near Lille, has been arrested as the seventh suspect in connection with the abduction of a 49-year-old woman from Hoofddorp.
Previously, six suspects were taken into custody, including five Dutch nationals and one Belgian. The car used in the abduction has also been recovered by authorities.
The woman was abducted on her way to work on Wednesday and her vehicle was found on Friday in Nieuw-Vennep, about ten minutes from her home. She returned safely to her residence on Sunday evening and is in good health.
According to the police, the abduction was linked to an international dispute among hard-drug criminals, and the woman was used as leverage. The exact circumstances of her return and where she was held remain undisclosed.
Authorities have not disclosed where the woman was held or the circumstances of her return.
