M&S says expanded Zalando deal can cut Europe delivery times by three days

M&S Expands Zalando Logistics Partnership to Speed Up Europe Deliveries

Zalando announced in its Q3 results released Thursday that it secured a new logistics agreement with the UK retailer M&S. M&S has now provided further details of this deal.

Since 2022, M&S maintained a limited partnership with Zalando, fulfilling orders via three European marketplace partners: Zalando, About You, and Amazon. From early next year, however, Zalando’s B2B logistics service ZEOS will handle M&S’s entire online direct-to-consumer operation across continental Europe.

Growing Demand Drives Deeper Collaboration

M&S reported rapid online growth last quarter, with sales on Zalando increasing by 131% compared to the previous year. This surge has encouraged M&S to expand its logistics partnership.

ZEOS Platform Benefits and Markets Served

The ZEOS system will operate across 21 markets, helping M&S by optimizing inventory management:

This applies to Fashion, Home, and Beauty product categories.

Strategic Role of Zalando in UK Retailers’ European Expansion

Besides M&S, Zalando also partners with another major UK retailer, Next, indicating that British companies are keen to expand significantly in mainland Europe. Zalando is evidently viewed as the preferred logistics partner to support this growth.

"The retailer said that in the last quarter, it has seen rapid growth online with Zalando sales up 131% vs last year."
"M&S will be able to take advantage of ZEOS’s inventory efficiency, creating one single stock pool as well as an advanced order management system for Fashion, Home & Beauty products."

Author’s summary: M&S's expanded logistics partnership with Zalando’s ZEOS platform will accelerate delivery times and streamline inventory across 21 European markets, reflecting strong online growth.
