The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof by David Auburn is now available for tickets. The revival stars Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle alongside Samira Wiley and Jin Ha.
Proof will be performed at the Booth Theatre starting March 31, 2026, with the official opening on April 16. The show is directed by Tony winner Thomas Kail.
Catherine (played by Edebiri), the gifted yet unsettled daughter of famed mathematics professor Robert (Cheadle), faces emotional upheaval when a notebook containing a groundbreaking proof is found following her father’s death. As arguments arise over the notebook’s true author, Catherine must grapple with legacy and the cost of proving herself.
Proof originally premiered off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club in 2000 before moving to Broadway, where it earned six Tony Award nominations and won three, including Best Play. It also received the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
